History of brand
The roots of Appella date back to the first half of the 20th century, when Swiss watchmaker Paul Glocker took his first steps in building the EBOSA Group. A skilled craftsman and a visionary entrepreneur, Glocker founded Montres Appella Sarl in 1943.

Paul Glocker, the founding father of Appella, drew his success from manufacturing Roskopf watch mechanisms in his Ebossa factory that were considered a cutting-edge product of Swiss craftsmanship at that time. Inspired by the revolutionary mechanical design and production process, Paul Glocker made sure that Appella’s vision featured the same qualities of excellence.

One of the company’s major achievements was the creation of the thinnest gold watch, which was unveiled on November 6, 2005. This was a challenging task, putting into test Appella’s deep understanding of the science of horology. It is now on display at the stand showcasing the finest Swiss innovations at the International Watch Fair in Besel.

The new owner of the Appella brand, ADRIATICA PR & A Watch Sagl, is a company with an extensive background and long traditions in the world of watchmaking․ Adriatica is a Swiss watch brand founded in 1931 by The Swiss Watch Company. The brand’s history is rooted in the traditions of the Montilier Watch Co. from the mid-19th century and became widely popular in the 1930s. After a hiatus during World War II, manufacturing resumed in the 1950s. Adriatica has been a member of The Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry since December 2006.

The models’ cases and bracelets are made of stainless steel. Not only is it an extremely durable material, but it also resists oxidation when exposed to moisture. The 18-karat gold plating, applied to a thickness of 5 microns using IPG technology, adheres perfectly to this surface.
All watch models are equipped with a butterfly clasp, which is recognized as the most reliable.
